Research For Music Video - Andrew Goodwin's Theory

There are three ways in videos that are used to promote a song;

•  Illustrate
•  Amplify 
• Disjunction Music Videos 

 Here is an example of Illustration

 The video and lyrics are both about a love story and the singer is the main character, making this music video seem real. 

Here is an example of Amplification

 In this video, the lyrics do not contract with the simple video, however it creates a new meaning, portraying a heart break.

 Here is an example of Disjunction

 In this video there is little connection between the lyrics and video, as the video is about self- realisation, but the video is full of radical world events.
