EVALUATION 4

The Evaluation I received throughout the project was very usually, whether it was peer evaluation, friends and family, teacher or even my fellow group members, everyone’s comments have shown me what I needed to improve on and what actually worked.
Music Video Feedback;

The comments i received after the screening from my fellow peers were positive and I felt that we really captured and presented our genre well. I learned that the blue lipstick worked amazingly as a form of synergy, and found that if she was the main artist we would have continued to highlight and emphasise the blue lipstick throughout the media products and really create her brand image. However the feedback from the media students aren't exactly accurate, as everyone just come out from watching their videos and are still amped up and excited, that their comments were probably made just to be nice and positive. Nonetheless their reaction and feedback after it being screened came in handy as they were able to back up their points with examples of what worked and what they liked rather than just saying "yes it was good". The comments we got back for the producers role were positive as the use of technology props and his role within the video clearly represented who he was.  I would of liked to gain some negative feedback just to see what we could of changed, or even improved on, however I am very pleased with the reactions and views of the audience thus far.
Ancillary Work Feedback;

For my Ancillary work, I wanted to gain feedback from people other than media students, to see if actually worked as professional product. I used forms of social media and apps, such as twitter, snap chat and whatsapp to see what the general public and my friends and family thought of it. I also received mainly positive feedback, although no one responded to my tweet, the people who did reply on other forms of social networking said “they liked how all three products fit together and how clearly the artist was promoted”. I was very pleased with this feedback, as that is exactly what I wanted to achieve. However i do realise that the feedback i received, wasn't exactly from my target audience, so I didn't gain any negative feedback,  as i assume people were just being nice. Because i didn't manage to gain feedback from a wider audience, or even from my targeted audience  I don't exactly know whether or not my ancillary work is a success.

Teacher Feedback;

Throughout the course feedback was frequently given,

From this i learnt how i can continually edit and improve my work and it showed me what i could have done better . Overall teacher feedback is very useful, as it’s easy to get, as it can be posted on to blogger or given directly.  Feedback played an important role, as it allowed me to go back and edit, make changes and improve my work, so that it can be the best it can be.

EVALUATION 3 - FINAL

EVALUATION 1 - FINAL

EVALUATION 2 - FINAL

Looking back at my blogs about synergy i mentioned that i would use the following throughout my production pieces.

The two main noticeable items i mentioned during the planning was the;
blue lipstick for the female artist

 and the scarf and mohawk for the male producer

I stuck to our initial idea and ensured I used them throughout all of our production pieces.

I was inspired by several current artists from different genres and the way they each uniquely distinguishing themselves from other artists and how it allows the audience to easily recognise them.

Nicki Minaj's explicit clothing and vibrant wigs have allowed her to become an international icon. The wigs and bright colours are used throughout all products relating to her therefore she can change between colours and styles but can still be easily identified.

The iconic 'half shaved' hairstyle inspired by Cassie has become not only become a fashion trend but also her brand image where the hairstyle is used throughout her modelling and music career. The hair style was so influential that it led many fans to follow the trend.

Katy B's medium length red hair, always worn down has become her brand image, where it is used through multiple products such as, music videos, live performances, photo shoots, digipaks, advertisements and interviews. This allows audiences to identify her simple from her hairstyle.

Emile Sande's Hair is another example of how she uses her hair as her brand image. This unique hair style hows the audience to easily identify her.

Often Female artists use their hairstyles and chose of makeup to distinguish themselves;

"SHOW ME YOUR HAIR& ILL TELL YOU WHO YOU ARE"

I wanted to do something similar to create a trend and be different, in a way that would create a fan base.

In our video we used THE BLUE LIPSTICK as the artist's brand image. If i was going to create a digipak and advertisement for the female artist i would use the blue lipstick throughout to link all the products together.

HOWEVER

Because the producer was the actual artist, and the female artist was the feature we had to create a digipak to promote the actual artist. Therefore through just the video the female artist should be able to gain a fan base and also become easily recognisable through the blue lipstick.

Similar to the other female artists that i researched and influenced my decisions, I was also inspired by several current male artists from different genres. And how they are each different and use synergy throughout their production pieces. As i had to create my own digipak and advertisement i wanted to see how male artists from different background uniquely distinguishing themselves.

Little Wayne is one of the most influential rappers besides owning his own record label, his distinctive long dreadlocks and tattoos is how the audience recognise him.

Bruno Mars hair style and hat has become his brand image. This allows the audience to recognise  and make connections when they see him else where; such as magazines, featured songs, interviews ect

Michael Jackson was a legend and his name alone was enough for people to know he was, let alone the dancing, his music, hair and fashion. However Michael Jackson also had a brand image that  made him most  memorable for; The white socks and one white glove was a key form of synergy that allowed an international audience to identify him.

Neyo, also used an accessory to create his brand image and used this throughout in various forms of media and products.

2 Chainz is fairly a new Rapper however through establishing a brand image that became recognisable, the synergy used in all of his products allowed the audience to easily identify him. Jewellery is very popular amongst Rappers, but by specifically wearing 2 chains along with the dreadlocks it made it easy for the audience to recognise him on any product.

Overview

Ive found that male Hairstyles and Accessories is what tends to be their way of creating themselves and separating themselves from other artist, therefore i chose to stick to using The Mohawk hairstyle and black bandana to form synergy across the products i created. The artist wore the scarf and hairstyle throughout therefore i continued to use this on my digipak and poster.

From researching and understanding how Male artists connect to the audience i realised that continuity is KEY! other wise it becomes a one off and the audience wont remember so by sticking to something such as a hairstyle or accessory it is easier to associate it with the artist.

(below is how i used the hairstyle and accessory to link with the video);
